YnM Tsuzuki – Under A Violet Moon

A special posting for Star Lixing.

Just to let you know thay the lirics does not suit our Malaysia culture.  To use it in the Malaysian setting you will need to change some of the lirics and maybe use an instrumental music of Under the Violet Moon for Teaching and Learning English purpose for the Malaysian.

Dancing to the feel of the drum
Leave this world behind
We’ll have a drink and toast to ourselves
Under a violet moon

Tudor Rose with the hair in curls
Will make you turn and stare
Try to steal a kiss at the bridge
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too

We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Cheers to the Knights and days of olde the beggars and the thieves
Living in an enchanted wood
Under a violet moon

Fortune teller what do you see
Future in a card
Share your secrets,
tell them to me

Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Close your eyes and lose yourself
In a medieval mood
Take the treasure and sing the tunes
Under a violet moon

This my delight on a shiny night
The season of the year
To keep the lanterns burning bright
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon

Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet moon Raise your hats and your glasses too
We will dance the whole night through
We’re going back to a time we knew
Under a violet… Under a violet… Under a violet moon

maybe she can teach her students english using the song. she mention it in her blog.

i remember when i was in school my english teacher always bring handouts of lirics. We sang the song together than she will explain the whole story about the song.

She will then make us paste the lyrics in our exercise books and list out as many new words/ vocabulary as we can. Then we will look up the dictionary and write our own sentences with the new words.

It was kind of refreshing because my English teacher (Miss Chan Kum Ling, she was so adorable and kind) always do that in double period classes that starts at 12:40 and ends at 2:00 pm. That is the most boring and tiring period of the entire school session.

In this new age with smart schools, it shall be much easier to do this. You just need to project whatever collection such as what we have in the blog now on a big screen and the students can sing then copy the lyrics if you don’t have time to print and make copies for them. Writing new words is one way to enable students to jog their memory for new words/vocabulary. Now you are applying technology into teaching!

^ ^ I like to sing my favorite songs anywhere.

Something is like I said in my blog. I think using english songs to teach students english is a good way. Bur the lyrics of the songs always ignore the grammar. That is a problem for the primary students.

In the future, I want give my students a class which is not felt boring. So sometimes using songs to teach english is better than only using books to teach.

And thanks for your reminding and suggests.

<>also is a nice song. If DR. has a free time. I hope that you can try it.

I heard Sami Yusuf’s song. It’s nice. I like the song which is named mother very much. And the MV is nice too. This song touchs me and I start to miss my mother……

His song is soft. It is different from Hip-Pop or Jazz. When I listen it my heart is quiet…..

  8. Cikgu says:
